Level 1: Blog About it
So far in this course I have learned more about how video games are useful in the classroom
setting. I have been looking around toward how games are to be utilized for certain classroom
activities. For example, looking at classroom review activities I can use games to help promote
learning. In my other blog post on Reviewing Games. I looked into a game that I knew about,
Kahoot.
This was a game I enjoyed using in the classroom, but now I have steered away from it
as I have now looked into better review formative assessment games that utilized technology like
Quizlet live and Quizizz.

I have also looked into games that would help my district promote student engagement. One area
I looked into was ClassCraft. This is a classroom management system that promotes student
engagement through a fantasy-RPG game. There are people all over the United States promoting
this style of teaching ranging from elementary students to AP Physics. I am interested to learn
more about the program since it can help my clientele who predominantly come from struggling
households where there is a lack of parental involvement and thus a lack of motivation. My next
plan with ClassCraft is to speak with the district officials who look into technology for teachers
to see if this might be a viable option for teachers to use with the middle school and some high
school classes. I want methods to help students stay engagement when they may never had before.
